Blog Hoppin' Teacher Week: Monday Who and BTS Giveaway 1

Happy (still summer) Monday!

This morning I am linking up with Blog Hoppin' for Teacher Week 2014.  Today is all about "Who".  So I'm linking up with 10 rando facts about me...
1. Hudson Valley, NY -- I moved to NY when I met my husband, and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with the absolute beauty of "upstate".  Now, I cannot imagine a life without country trails, farmers markets, wineries, or the serene views of the Hudson River.

2. Dogs - I just love dogs, especially my little Brindle, who my husband and I rescued two years ago from a shelter in South Carolina.
3. Healthy Living - I am a true believer in holistic, natural living.  I trust in a healthy lifestyle for the entire mind, body, heart and spirit.  I believe in the healing power of positive energy.

4. Career Changer - I did not start my professional career as a teacher.  Although I knew I always wanted to be a teacher, while in college, I decided to explore other career paths.  I worked in Public Relations for a short time period...and it did not take very long working in the field before I was drawn back into Education.  I taught pre-school for 2 1/2 years while I took the time to find and complete a graduate program.  Now, I am headed into my second year as a Special Education teacher.

5. Tea - is my all time favorite drink.  I love snuggling up with a warm cup of chai before bed.

6. Autumn - Dare I say it??? Especially since we are dangerously close to the end of summer???  I will.  I love the fall. It is my favorite season and although I am sad each year to see the summer slip away...I can't help but get giddy over the sensations of fall.  Brightly colored leaves, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, wood burning stoves, crunchy leaves...ahh! <3

7. Books - I am proud to announce my avid love of books...nothing grabs me in more than a real cheesy romance novel.

8. Cooking - In my spare time, I do enjoy cooking up some new recipes in the kitchen.

9. Wine Enthusiast - Yep, I love myself a good wine tasting, and although I do not consider myself a professional taster by any means, I have started to pick up a few tips and tricks along the way.

10. Special Education - Never what I envisioned myself doing 10 years ago, I can no longer imagine doing anything else.  Working with my special learners is one of the most rewarding experiences I could have.  I love that I can get up each day and truly enjoy the job I am doing, and the differences I am making.

Well that's it for me folks!  Be sure to scoot on over to the Blog Hoppin' blog to learn more about the other teacher bloggers out there! If you are interested in linking up, here is the line up for the rest of the week...
