May Your Classroom Be Merry and Bright: Creating a Positive Classroom Environment

I am blogging at Focused on Fifth for Day 11 of our holiday link up.  Today we are talking about seasonal tips for instilling a positive classroom environment.

I am using two popular strategies...with a holiday twist...to maintain a positive classroom environment this holiday season.

My students are getting a kindness boost with these jolly gems and Little Hope, our kindness snowman.

These mini stockings from the Dollar Store are helping keep tabs on my students' good deeds.
To learn more about Little Hope, our kindness snowman, and Have you Filled a Stocking?, our spin-off from the popular book, Have you Filled a Bucket?, click on this link to read about what we are up to in my classroom.

Have some thoughts on creating a positive classroom environment?  Either leave a comment below, or join in on the link up by adding your blog.

Blog Hoppin' Teacher Week: Where (Classroom Digs)

It is Day 2 of Blog Hoppin' Teacher Week 14', and today we are focusing on our classroom "digs".

I have to say, today was my first day back in the room since summer school ended a little over a week ago, so my room is not finished yet.  I am not quite ready for the final "reveal", but I have been floating around some sneak peaks of the room on my Instagram if you follow me. So, I am going to repeat those same pictures here and I apologize if you have already seen them and they are a little repetitive. Here are the previews, enjoy!

Be sure to scoot on over to Blog Hoppin' to tour some of the other teacher classrooms.  If you are interested in linking up, take a look at the Teacher Week schedule below.

Back to School: How to Organize Those Pesky Bulletin Board Labels

So I am not sure about all of you, but I LOVE the idea of a fresh, brand spakin' new bulletin board.  HOWEVER, I hate this...
Each time I go to my bulletin board letters to create my "crafty" new saying...I am stuck with a messed up jumble of letters, which seem to without fail tear every time I separate them.  And so, I searched through Pinterest to find a solution.  Low and behold I came across this from Teaching my Friends.

I loved this idea, and thanks to my hubby, I was able to snag an old CD case, sorted out my letters...and turned it into this!  Voila! A very organized (happy dance) solution to sorting my bulletin board letters.

'

Unfortunately, as back to school time got closer...I took down my old bulletin boards...purchased new supplies and this CD case got jammed!  Have no fear though...an easy solution was just around the corner.  Instead of CD covers, I threw the letters into small baggies and secured them inside page protectors which are stored safely inside a large 3 ring binder.

After this project, I also decided I loved these little alphabet letters so much, that I wanted to expand upon them.  I created 5 color scheme alphabet and number labels which are now available on my TpT store.  =]

Lowercase letters
